MORE THAN A PRETTY BASKET OF FLOWERS!

This handmade French basket has been one of my most-loved finds, yet it was left to take up space on a shelf in the garage. How could I let something so beautiful sit idly by and collect nothing but dust? Its large size limited the design options, that is until I was inspired to put it on display as a farmer’s market basket on my kitchen table. Its abundant size and shallow walls are both handy and stylish for gathering the harvest. It is one of my go-to farmhouse staples.

All that stands between you and a great picnic is a charming basket. Begin by lining the basket with a checkered tablecloth; it will come in handy for spreading on the grass. Wrap sandwiches in waxed paper tied with twine or string. Hand-rolled paper cones make excellent potato chip holders. Tuck in a rosemary plant for a fragrant centerpiece.
